Alot of governments seem to use the national carriers aircraft, its a wonder why they don`t just have private aircraft. B-2447, I believe, a B747-400 with Air China is known as the Chinese airforce one apparently, it was in Shannon a few months ago.

But remember in Chinas case, they are communist, so the government basically own the aircraft anyway. |

Its usually when airlines are state owned that one or more of their aircraft will be designated for VIP transport. It also looks better for the government....doesn't look like they are spending millions of taxpayers money on luxury jets for themselves. |

Was the security high over near the west apron? No...plenty of activity around the aircraft but nothing out of the ordinary out along the perimeter fence. |

I was super lucky. Was on the apron about to board my 738 and she popped above the skyline. The cabin crew asked me to hurry up, I explained what it was and gave me that special 'avgeek treatment' during the flight.
